Our Principal

Dear Colleagues, Parents, Students, Alumni, and Well-wishers,

It is with immense pride and gratitude that I extend my heartfelt greetings to all of you. As our institution crosses the glorious milestone of completing more than 58 years (1966–2024), we find ourselves standing at the threshold of a promising future. This moment marks not just a celebration of our journey so far, but also a renewed commitment to the noble ideals envisioned by the late legendary Shri Biju Patnaik—who dreamt of transforming this institute into a hub for producing highly skilled and quality technicians.

Over the decades, the world around us has changed, industries have evolved, and so have the needs of the job market. While we embrace these changes, we also fondly remember and pay tribute to our former principals, teachers, non-teaching staff, alumni, and well-wishers—some of whom are no longer with us. Their dedication and contributions have played a pivotal role in establishing Govt. ITI Talcher as one of the premier centers for industrial training in Odisha.

Currently, we are the only Government ITI in Angul district, offering 14 popular trades across 53 units, supported by a committed team of 46 teaching and 22 non-teaching staff. Alongside long-term programs, the institute also offers various short-term skill development courses such as MES programmes, CNC programming, and specialized training for land oustees of nearby industries.

Our students consistently bring laurels to the institute through their outstanding performance in state-level competitions and are successfully securing employment in reputed public and private sector organizations. Notably, our alumni have been placed in esteemed establishments like Indian Railways, Delhi Metro, HAL, SAIL, NTPC, NALCO, BARC, DRDO, Tata Motors, and Hero MotoCorp, among others.

In response to the evolving landscape of skill education, we have intensified our focus on soft skills, communication, aptitude, and personality development—key components of today’s recruitment processes. Facilities such as computer labs, communication labs, and CNC labs are helping students enhance both their technical and co-curricular abilities.

At Govt. ITI Talcher, we are fostering a culture of innovation, discipline, and relentless hard work. Our goal remains clear: to produce quality technicians who are not only technically sound but also industry-ready. This mission demands sincerity, punctuality, humility, and integrity from each one of us.

Let us unite with a shared vision—to empower our students to meet challenges head-on and build a skilled, confident workforce for the nation.

Jai Jagannath!
